The Pedigree® Stage Stop Race is pleased to announce the Stage Stop 8!
Two Days • Eight Dogs • $10,000 Guaranteed Purse
This two-day, 8-dog race will run concurrently with the final two days of the Pedigree Stage Stop Race. Both stages will be based at the Upper Green River Trailhead near Cora, Wyoming, with teams racing approximately 20 miles each day on an out-and-back course along the Upper Green River.
The Stage Stop 8 is limited to 10 teams and features a $10,000 guaranteed purse, with prize money awarded to every official finisher according to finishing position.

Entry & Application
The Stage Stop 8 is limited to the first 10 qualified teams accepted for competition.
• Entry fee is $200 USD.
• Entry fees are non-refundable.
• Applications will be accepted electronically beginning October 1, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. MDT. The electronic application will not become active before that time.
• Entries close December 31, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. MDT.
• Entry priority will be determined on a first-come, first-served basis according to the timestamp of the electronic application.
• All applications are subject to review and acceptance by the Race Marshal.
• Once the field reaches 10 accepted teams, additional qualified applicants will be placed on a waiting list in order of application.
$10,000 Guaranteed Purse
The Stage Stop 8 features a guaranteed $10,000 purse. All teams officially completing the race will receive the advertised purse amount corresponding to their official finishing position.
Prize money assigned to finishing positions not achieved by an official finisher will not be paid or redistributed.

Race Rules
The current Pedigree Stage Stop Race Rules apply to the Stage Stop 8 except as specifically modified below.

Section 06 — Race Start
Starting order for Stage One will be determined by order of entry.
For Stage Two, teams will start in reverse order of their Stage One finishing times, with the fastest team from Stage One starting last.
Section 11 — Sled
Sleds must be capable of safely carrying and containing any dog unable to continue running in the team.
Sleds must use a tandem hitch and be equipped with a brush bow and adequate braking system.
Section 13 — Mandatory Items
All mushers must carry:
• A basic first-aid kit.
• Race bib as required under the main-event rules.
• Any race-provided sled banner or other required sponsor identification.
Section 15 — Maximum Number of Dogs
A musher may start each stage with no more than eight (8) dogs.
Dogs must be selected from the musher’s declared pool of no more than ten (10) dogs.
Dogs may be substituted between stages from within the declared pool, subject to applicable veterinary and race rules. No dog outside the declared pool may be added to the team after the start of competition.
Section 37 — Prize Awards
The Stage Stop 8 features a guaranteed $10,000 purse. All teams officially completing the race will receive the advertised purse amount corresponding to their official finishing position.
Prize money assigned to finishing positions not achieved by an official finisher will not be paid or redistributed.
Purse winnings and awards will be presented at the Upper Green River Trailhead following the conclusion of Stage Two and certification of the official results. Only teams officially completing the race are eligible for purse winnings and awards.
Competitor Qualifications
All Stage Stop 8 applicants are subject to review and acceptance by the Race Marshal. The Race Marshal may consider an applicant’s mushing and race experience and overall preparedness for the event when determining eligibility.

Veterinary Examination
All dogs entered in the Stage Stop 8 are subject to the veterinary requirements of the Pedigree Stage Stop Race.

Vaccinations

Microchip Identification
All competing dogs must have microchip identification. Dogs without a microchip may be provided one by the race veterinary crew at a cost of $10 per chip. Race-provided microchips will be available only for dogs entered in competition. This link takes you to the races online Dog Identification form. This form must be filled out and submitted prior to January 15, 2027. For dogs who already are chipped.
Saturday Evening Awards Banquet
Stage Stop 8 competitors are invited to attend the Pedigree Stage Stop Race Awards Banquet in Pinedale on Saturday evening following the conclusion of racing.
Banquet attendance is optional. Tickets may be purchased by Stage Stop 8 competitors and their guests and must be reserved and paid for no later than one week prior to the banquet.
