    Joe Loveless , Roy , Washington USA age 47
    2003 IPSSSDR finished 19th place
    Joe Loveless , a firefighter/EMT , began mushing in 1984 with rescued Siberian Huskies. Mushing soon became a Family activity involving Joe, his wife Becky and their daughters. We live at sea level and train mostly on dirt with ATV’s and wheeled carts. For snow training the Loveless Family travels to British Columbia. Wyoming is a wonderful Place to run dogs and this race is the top of the stage racing circuit.
  • Section 4: Participation, Waiver and Release Agreement

    PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE SIGNING. THIS IS A RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND A WAIVER OF CERTAIN LEGAL RIGHTS.
  • In consideration for my being permitted to participate in the PEDIGREE® STAGE STOP RACE I agree to the following waiver and release:

    1. I acknowledge that sled dog racing has inherent risks, hazards and dangers that cannot be eliminated for any musher, particularly in a wilderness environment in the mountainous terrain. I UNDERSTAND THAT THESE RISKS, HAZARDS AND DANGERS INCLUDE WITHOUT LIMITATIONS;
      1. Risks arising from traveling through areas that are not patrolled, where snow conditions vary, are unpredictable Changing; where objects are not marked and hazards may not be visible, where avalanches occur.
      2. Risks arising from traveling through areas frequented by wild animals, where the risk of confrontation and injury Or death for mushers or dogs from the confrontations is extremely high; and
      3. Such other risks, hazards and dangers that are an integral part of the sport of sled dog racing in a wilderness Environment in mountainous terrain.
    2. I AM AWARE AND ACKNOWLEDGE THAT SLED DOG RACING HAS INHERENT DANGERS AND RISKS FOR ANY COMPETITOR.
    3. In addition, I acknowledge that sled dog racing is an inherently and extremely dangerous and risky event which could result in serious bodily injury, paralysis, or death. I further understand that it is physically demanding and requires at a minimum, competent mushing skills.
    4. I AM VOLUNTARILY PARTICIPATING IN THIS RACE WITH KNOWLEDGE OF THE DANGERS AND RISKS INVOLVED AND HEREBY AGREE TO ACCEPT ANY AND ALL RISKS INVOLVED AND HEREBY AGREE TO ACCEPT ANY AND ALL RISKS OF INJURY, PARALYSIS OR DEATH.
    5. Lastly, I, for myself, my heirs, successors, executors and suborders, hereby KNOWINGLY AND INTENTIONALLY WAIVE AND RELEASE INDEFINITELY AND HOLD THE PEDIGREE® STAGE STOP RACE and each of its owners, officers, agents, and employees from and against all claims, actions, causes of action, liabilities , expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) and NEGLIGENCE of any kind or nature, whether foreseen or unforeseen, arising directly or indirectly out of any damage, loss, injury, paralysis, or death to me or my property as a result of my participation and completion in any if these sled dog race competitions, my use of competition facilities or my presence at competition site, whether such damage, loss injury, paralysis or death results from NEGLIGENCE of the PEDIGREE® STAGE STOP RACE, its officers, agents or employees or from some other cause.

    I HAVE CAREFULLY READ, CLEARLY UNDERSTAND AND VOLUNTARILY SIGN THIS PARTICIPATION, WAIVER AND RELEASE AGREEMENT.

  • A Board approved refund of your application fee of $500 can be requested up until December 1, 2023. There will be no application fee refunds after December 1, 2023.

  • Musher Appreciation Dinner Thursday January 30th 5 pm is mandatory for all mushers. Handlers and family are optional. Please contact Dianna for more details at secretary@wyomingstagestop.org or (307) 640-5359.
  • By signing this application and paying the required entry fee, the musher agrees to abide by the 2024 Race Rules as set forth by the PEDIGREE® STAGE STOP RACE. I further understand that if any result of drug testing on my team come back positive after I have been awarded prize money, I will return that prize money.
  • I have read through the dog pool selection and microchip requirement document and agree to the requirement.
  • You electronic signature is the legal equivalent of your manual signature on this Agreement.
  • Submission of this form will save you a place on the waiting list. You will receive an email from the race that contains vital information and instructions that need to be completed in order to keep a position on the roster.
